Slime FAQ

Slime can become sticky due to traveling in heat, or by simply breaking down over time (we call this melting).

This can be easily fixed! We send your slime with a packet of activator powder, and an instruction card. Follow the directions on the card to help restore the slime to its/your desired texture. Don't forget to store the solution in a marked container for future use.

Keep in mind that clear base slimes are naturally stickier than a white/solid color base slime. If you do feel the need to activate your slime, be mindful of add-ins, as the stickiness is what holds them in the slime (i.e. crunchy textured slimes; slimes with beads, chunky charms, floam).

This is called "fallout". This can be completely normal, and fixed by adding a plain clear base slime to it.

Causes? The slime could have dried out over time because of being well-loved and frequently played with Also, some add-ins just aren't great at holding on to slime (such as any kind of snow/cloud slime).

Was your slime in cold temps?
If so, let it come to room temp! Do not microwave, please and thanks! ;P

Add too much activator? You can wait for it to "melt" over time, place in a warm, sunny place (again, not in a heating element), or you can add a spot of glycerin! If you go the glycerin route, just be cautious of how much you add at a time. A dab has high "melting" powers, especially on small amounts of slime like you have received. If you apply too much glycerin, you will need to apply more activator until you reach the desired consistancy.

We prefer the Borax method, which is 1 tsp of Borax powder to 1 exact cup of warm water (warm water helps the powder to disintegrate and become fully incorperated).

Honestly, most people do not understand that slime has different "difficulty" levels.

Not all slimes are holdable and easy to play with. We don't want you to get discouraged before understanding that some slimes are just a bit more tough to get the hang of!

There are tackier slimes, which will be for those that are a bit more versed in the slime play. Usually a clear or super textured slime will have this reputation. Faster movements and cooler temps will help the amount of "stick". (Believe it or not, hot/warm hands can cause a bit of a sticky situation.)

There are slimes that aren't as tacky, and those are perfect for the littles or beginners just getting into slime! Butter/frosting slimes are perfect for this type of slime play!

Probably 98% of the parents we speak to about how amazing slime is in this day and age, they all have a "ban" on slime, or have "tossed out so many shirts" because slime has found its way on a surface it was not intended for.

NO WORRIES!! With 4 kids and making slime for years and years now, we have the secret to making cleanup incredibly quick and painless! White vinegar. Scrape as much slime off as you can, before applying. Saturate the area with vinegar and either let it set if it's pretty thick, or you can start scrubbing it with a brush, a paper towel, or a cloth. For clothing, you can do the same, and/or add the clothing to really hot water. We are a "wash everything in cold" household, so we make sure it's taken care of with the vinegar.

*This works on hair as well. Don't ask how we would know...
